Road Trip Radio

One Liner: Mini game based round who gets to choose the radio station on a road trip

Jackbox style game, a central screen that everyone can see and each player uses their cell phone as their input device.

Set up

You're on a long road trip with your friends, but there is an argument who gets to choose the radio station. You decide to play mini games for control over the radio. Choosing the radio station is like choosing the vibe of the mini game. The radio station plays in the background while you play the mini game. The winner of the previous game chooses the next game.

The radio

One of the most memorable parts of GTA for me was the radio, with the shock jockeys. This should have similar vibes where each station has a specific vibe to it with a different DJ as they play their style music. Punk, Alternative, Disco, talk radio, News, etc…

Side windows, main screen

When playing a mini game, the shared screen should show up in the center of the screen but it should look like the back seat of a car, but with side windows shown. The game screen shows up covering the main part of the front window but the side windows should still be able to be seen. With passing cars and scenery wheezing by.

Game within the game

There should be a game within a game that if you notice something specific in the side windows while playing a mini game and are the first to notice it, you get a reward in the current game. For example if you see a VW Bug and you are the first to click the button. You get to punch the others, freezing them in the game for 5 seconds. Other things like noticing the license plates, etc…

Pit stops

Every ~5 games or so, you pull off the road to a site seeing attraction. It should be a mini animation or real time video of something amazing to see. There are no mini games here. Just an achievement for playing the game. You get to pick a souvenir from the gift shop to commemorate the visit before continuing your road trip.
