Seek and Find (Theme: Loop)
Idea - Seek and Find
This is a game based on “Seek and Find” image games. Where you need to find the differences between the two images, or find specific elements in the image (like a where’s Waldo)
In this game you are looking at a living town that is updating in real time. You are looking for things that don’t make sense or are changing or specific elements in this town. If you don’t detect the changes or find the specific elements before a timer runs out you lose the game.
Goal and Story
You have been informed that cultists in this town are trying to summon a “Cthulhuian otherworldly monster”. You need to find these cultists, and prevent them from summing their evil god.
You have several investigators (3) each with their own special skills (Brute, interrogator, detective, etc…) that you can send into the town to perform actions on your behalf, they walk around in real-time just like the town folks.
While the game is progressing the cultists are changing the town, and collecting or placing their summoning elements. As they change the town, you can notice the buildings or elements that they are changing and send your investigators to stop them. Stop enough of them before the time runs out and you win
Interface
A zoomed-out, isometric view of a town with villages of town people going about their day. The people are large enough to click on and interact with. Think the Sims but more zoomed out. The town is larger then can fit into a single screen.
Your actions
- Pan around the map to watch the villagers from a god-like perspective.
- Click on elements and send your investigators to perform actions on these elements.
- Investigate, Interview, collect, etc…
- It takes time for your investigator to travel to the location and perform the action, you can send multiple investigators in different directions.
Game play
As you pan around the map, the cultists are changing things outside your viewing area. Then when you pan back you notice a building that was painted green is now red. Or there are red flowers appearing all over the town. Or the names of buildings and signs are changing to start with the letter “S”, etc.…
Once you notice something that is odd, you send one of your investigators to that location and tell them to snoop around. If you are correct that something changed, you are shown a success prompt and are given clues to the cultists plan. If you are wrong then you just wasted time and the cultists are closer to summing their evil god.
Collect enough clues and you successfully stop the monster from being summoned in.
